Lucy Nyirenda, GAIA Malawi's newly minted Ana Patsogolo ("Children First") Activity (APA) Program Manager, traveled to the U.S. this month to accept the Excellence in Global HIV Nursing Award from the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) in Washington D.C. Ellen Schell, GAIA's Senior Advisor, met Lucy in D.C. where she accepted her award and made connections with global nursing colleagues.
Ellen and Lucy then flew to California for a week of virtual Q&A sessions with GAIA community members and an exciting livestream event, GAIA's first "Global Nurses' Corner", with GAIA Trustees Melanie Norris and Kaboni Gondwe. Although we kept her busy, Lucy was able to enjoy sightseeing in between!
The GAIA US team is in awe of Lucy's incredible talent, passion, and kindness that, undoubtedly, extends to both her GAIA Malawi colleagues and clients. GAIA is lucky to have you, Lucy!
