Cryptocurrency
Donating cryptocurrency is available as a quick, meaningful and tax-efficient way to help us continue providing primary healthcare to rural Malawians. Through The Giving Block, a secure, reliable, and widely used giving platform, anyone can donate cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and over fifty additional cryptocurrency options.
Donate via IRA
If you are over age 70 ½, you may give a gift from your IRA as a tax-free distribution to a qualified charity. This means an amount (up to $105,000 annually) transferred from your IRA directly to GAIA can count toward your required minimum distribution without being considered taxable income for you. The distribution, also known as an IRA Charitable Rollover as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is authorized by Section 408(d)(8) of the Internal Revenue Code. By donating directly from your IRA and not taking your RMD then donating, keeps your taxable income down and maximizes your donation impact to GAIA.
