We are thrilled to share GAIA’s 2023 Annual Report and hope you enjoy reading about our progress over the past year. 

2023 was a significant year for GAIA. We made steady progress towards ending Malawi’s AIDS epidemic while expanding and adapting our programs to address the country’s changing healthcare needs. Program highlights include:

• Our Nursing Scholars Program continued to grow, now supporting 332 scholars with 532 graduates serving local health posts and hospitals throughout Malawi. Our Nursing Fellows program hit a milestone 250 fellows deployed across Malawi!
  
  
• Our Mobile Health Clinics reached an all-time record of 277,995 client visits in a year, and a cumulative 2.9 million client visits total since 2008.
  
  
• And GAIA jumped in to assist with health services at cyclone displacement camps when Cyclone Freddy hit Malawi in February. 

In addition to these incredible milestones, our Annual Report features sections highlighting the climate crisis in Malawi, testimonials from nursing fellows, and the GAIA team’s growing role in research and advocacy.
